I am going to go out a limb here without clicking your link and assume you are referring to email marketing. 

I think a lot of people think it is outdated and that is why many do not use it. I am not sure why anyone would think it is. I know people who have had great success for all kinds of businesses through e-mail alone.

yeah this has to be e-mailing.

Spot on guys! Could not agree more panth3r, I think it's vastly underestimated and underpriced for the value you get out of it. The stats in the article illustrate this.

Mandy, are you asking what works best as far as strategy for email? I think the best strategy particularly in industries like roofing is an email sequence that continues to feed the homeowner answers to their questions and makes them feel more comfortable with your expertise and gets them closer to making the final decision. It doesn't have to be sales-y, when they're ready they'll call you because you've been there for them every step of the way.

Here's what I suggest: poll your sales guys on the top 5 questions/objections they get during sales meetings, write up the answers and turn them into emails. You'll have a great email sequence and your close rates should go up too!

I don't understand why, if businesses know it WORKS, why does e-mailing strategies continue to be ignored? I asked my boss about this myself. I told him he needs to market that way. We been slow for most of the year and I know there is work to be done, they just aren't coming to us.

I never really handled the e-mailing end of the work. I mainly head on the houses to do the work. I do some office things but very minor. 

With that being said, I have no idea what e-mail marketing even is. lol
