So I thought this was worth sharing. Are shingles done this way in your area? 
I had never seen it where they just flop like that unless it was on a bad roof to begin with that was being replaced.

I never heard of laying them this way myself and it is common sense why you don't. I have worked on roofs that were done this way but I always assumed it was wrong. I never thought there were people out there who were trained to do them this way.

Same here dude. Sounds like a bunch of non-sense if you ask me. Maybe it is an outdated technique but sounds like trouble waiting to happen.
