Do you have a rule of thumb that you go by?  I usually use four nails per shingle.  In what circumstances would you use more?

We use 6 Nails per shingle on all shingle installations.

You are allowed to just install 4, but 6 Nails gets a better warranty.

I’ll have to remember that the next time I install shingles.  I certainly don’t want people to think that I’m taking the easy way out.

This is kind of interesting.  I’ve been reading that in some parts of the country they use six and others four.
