I am not 10 year expert of roofing but I do not understand how you can miss something like this while working!?

Most of the time when they do see it, they don't want to bother with it. Most of these fly by night guys just want to get it done as fast as possible and get paid.

I worked for this one guy many years ago when I first started out and he had a crew who did this intentionally. I kid you not. They said this means when something goes wrong, like a minor leak they get to make an extra quick buck off of them.

I can totally believe that. I know several business owners in different professions and they pull the same type of stuff. They figure the people will have problems down the road and call them for the repeat business.

We had a company in my area who did this. They were able to scam a lot of people before they go caught but once legit companies found out, they went out of business. Word has it, they moved to Carolina.

Yeah, I heard this happening as well. You might get away with that type of work for a while, but it will eventually catch up to you. The thing is, most of these companies don't stay around long enough to get caught.
