I’ve been seeing advertisements for these on TV.  I live in an area where the power can go out due to natural diseasters.  They seem a bit pricey.  But, I’d like to feel secure knowing that I always have power.  Regardless of what’s going on outside.

I’ve seen those on TV also.  I wouldn’t mind having one.  I wouldn’t pay the price they want for it though.  I’d take one if they were giving it away for free.

I bought a champion portable, years ago. It has been great. It isn't all the portable, because it is big enough to run my whole house if I am careful, but... It isn't too bad. I can get it in the back of the truck with ramps.

I built a suicide plug for it and I just trip the main and fire it up and backfeed into the house. As long as we keep everything off, with the exception of what we are running at the moment, It runs like a champ. I have a chain for it that I use to lock it up when it's running, in the off chance someone wants it more than I do.

I have installed them on a home in the woods for the emergency backup power, and they were nice. The ones that auto-start are great because they run on propane or natural gas and they auto fire as soon as the power goes out. You have just a minute or so with a power outage and it fires up. No worries about flipping main breakers or anything else. Just autopilot.

That’s what they said on TV.  It only takes about a minute or so for them to kick in.  I’ve been thinking about getting one.  I really hate it when the electric goes out.

I hate it when the electric goes out.  Nothing gets on my nerves more.  It’s then you realize just how dependent on electricity we all are.

Being without electricity is the worst ever.  It seems that people can only last about an hour or two without freaking out.  I’m trying to avoid the freak out as much as possible as tornado season approaches.
